Hartlepool United's first pre-season friendly confirmed

With Pools’ 2020-21 campaign still awaiting its conclusion via the play-offs, National League North neighbours Gateshead announced that they will be hosting Dave Challinor’s side at the International Stadium on Saturday, July 24 (3pm kick-off).

Hartlepool travelled to Gateshead last pre-season in September 2020, claiming a 4-1 win on Tyneside.

Gary Liddle, Joe Grey, David Parkhouse and Claudio Ofosu got on the scoresheet for Pools before Macaulay Langstaff scored a late consolation for the hosts.

No supporters were allowed in the ground that day but Gateshead have stated that ticket details for the upcoming friendly fixture will be announced in due course.

It is going to be a quick turnaround for United, whose 2020-21 season has extended deep into June and the EFL and National League campaigns are set to get back under way in August.
