After a dominant display from Pools failed to yield a goal, Tranmere’s Tom Davies popped up in the 89th minute to head home from Josh Hawkes’ corner to claim all three points for the hosts.
It’s Pools’ second away defeat of the season as they now look ahead to next weekend’s home match against Bristol Rovers.

9. Gavan Holohan - 7
Hit the side netting in the first half. Linked play up well and was usually involved in the majority of positive Pools attacks. Photo: Mark Fletcher
10. Tyler Burey - 5
Was erratic at times with not a lot coming off for him in the first half. Improved in the second before unfortunately going off injured. Photo: Mark Fletcher
11. Will Goodwin - 7
A fine striker's performance in all areas except the one that mattered as he came away without a goal. Also let his man go for Tranmere's winning goal late on. Photo: Mark Fletcher
12. Luke Molyneux - 6
On for Burey 64: Tried to make things happen off the bench but didn't see enough of the ball. Photo: Mark Fletcher
