Here's what our Hartlepool United writer Robbie Stelling made of the Pools players in Greater Manchester. Do you agree with his marks?
5. Jay Benn: 6
Started the game brightly and almost provided an assist after just two minutes when Reiss McNally headed his free-kick over the bar. Was a real shame to lose him in the 19th minute after feeling a tweak in his hamstring and Pools fans will be hoping to see him back soon following an excellent start to the new season. 6. Jamie Miley: 8
Made the first goal with an exquisite defence-splitting pass and was influential all evening. Photo: Adam Cook/The Corner Photography
7. Nathan Sheron: 7
Captained the side and led the team well, steaming into a number of strong challenges and making one brave block on the edge of the box in the second half. Photo: Adam Cook/The Corner Photography
8. Besart Topalloj: 8
Made one superb sliding tackle in the first half to deny Lucas Weaver and was influential at both ends all evening. Seems to really enjoy getting up and down the left and has the quality, energy and defensive acumen to make him a real asset. Photo: Adam Cook/The Corner Photography
