Story of the night: Hartlepool United 4-0 Stockport County – Pools get an early Christmas present against nine man Stockport

Rhys Oates gave Pools the lead with a fine solo goal early on before Stockport’s Ash Palmer was shown a straight red card.

After the break, Ryan Johnson and Luke Armstrong quickly made it 3-0 and things got worse for the visitors as John Rooney was sent off for dissent. Armstrong then made it 4-0 in stoppage time.
