The result means Pools end the season fourth in the National League due to Stockport County winning 1-0 at Yeovil Town.

Molyneux does well to set the Pools striker up but his effort is deflected and cleared. He gets a second opportunity with a heder moments later but is denied by a great save from Benfield.

A great solo effort from the Irish midfielder almost looked like it wasn’t going to happen as he looked to lose his footing before keeping hold of the ball, beating his man and lining up a shot from the edge of the box which rolled into the bottom left corner.
