LiveStory of the night: Altrincham 1-1 Hartlepool United – 10 man Pools hang on for a point

Hartlepool United held on for a 1-1 draw at Altrincham after being reduced to 10 men early on.

Tuesday, 9th March 2021, 9:50 pm

Lewis Cass' early red card made it an uphill task for Pools but they were still able to go ahead through Rhys Oates after 33-minutes.

Altrincham drew level on the stroke of half-time as Ryan Colclough’s powerful drive from distance was parried in by Ben Killip.

Pools climb up to second as a result but miss the opportunity to go top of the table.

Dominic Scurr gives his video assessment

Challinor reacts to draw

If I’d been offered a point at half time I would have taken it. The goal is a mistake but it’s an important point. The second half disciple they showed was worthy of a point. If we can recover quickly and back it up with a win on Saturday it’s a good point.

Dave Challinor on draw
