It’s unclear when the fifth tier will resume at this stage as the coronavirus outbreak continues to impact everyone across the country.

According to chief executive Mark Maguire, Pools generate roughly £25,000 per match at Victoria Park which goes a long way to paying staff and various other running costs.

Hartlepool are still due to play four home matches this season which risks leaving them £100,000 out of pocket while the campaign is suspended.

Chairman Raj Singh is currently committed to covering the club’s shortfall for the time being with training sessions and contract talks continuing. While the club would no doubt welcome any form of support, financial or otherwise, over the coming months, their message to fans is simple.

“All we can ask of our supporters is to stay interested in us, remember we’re here,” Maguire said.

“We will be launching season ticket campaigns and trying to get them on board with their help and their support has been just unbelievable all season.

“We want our fans to keep in contact with us and most importantly keep safe and well so they can come back fighting fit to get behind us for whenever the final bit of the season starts again. We certainly can’t ask any more of our fans than we’ve had already.”
