Pools will be looking to make it three wins from three to start their National League season when they visit York Road this weekend.

The teams have had contrasting starts to the campaign with Challinor’s men going into the game of a 2-1 win at Chesterfield on Tuesday night while Maidenhead remain without a point having lost their opening two matches against Sutton United and King’s Lynn Town respectively.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s match, Challinor told The Mail: “As with everything, we look at the opposition and where we think we can get joy by analysing their strengths and weaknesses.

"They’ve lost their opening two games and conceded six goals but they’ll be looking at the game against us as an opportunity to put things right.

"We tweaked things at Chesterfield in terms of how we set up. We used a back three at times with [Lewis] Cass moving in with Timi [Odusina] and Ryan [Johnson].

“We played against a 3-5-2 at Gateshead in pre-season but we knew they were going to try and play so we wanted to really press them.

"So we’ll be adaptable and tweak what we do based on how we can best stop the opposition, more out of possession than anything else.

"Whether it’s playing down the sides and getting crosses in, there are little things we’ll notice about each opposition that we’ll try and use to our advantage as best we can.”
