Competitors at the Stockton Winter Trail Race Series were met with a course which is relatively flat, though they had to face icy puddles and a boggy field around the 2k and 5k courses.

Dixon has been representing the town exceptionally well over the last year and her race around Preston Park was no different.

The Burn Road Harrier (pictured) stormed to the finish line of the 2k route in 7 minutes and 42 seconds for 26th place and third female 11-14.

The 5k race attracted 179 runners and was won by Ian Tweddle of North Shields Poly AC in 17:45.

First Burn Road Harrier to cross the line was Andrew Doughty in 25:09 (55th), a great result for Andrew who now vows to race more frequently for the club.

Greg Swinbourne was on Andrew’s shoulder and finished very close in 25:11 (56th).

Claire Earle continued her run of good results, placing first Burn Road female in 27:18 (90th), followed by Sam Dixon in 27:55 (106th).

Sarah Bulley broke her leg around a 5k trail race in 2014 but this has not deterred her from a determined run a year on to finish in 30:19 (131st). Hopefully this is the start of a good year’s running for Sarah.

Helen Charlton’s maiden race for the club ended well, with Helen striding across the line to complete the 5k in 30:31 (135th).

Christopher McGrath had another good run, finishing in 34:55 (173th) to the cheers of his team mates.
