Peter Howe made history when he touched down for Hartlepool's first score at the Bangkok International Rugby Sevens.

Lao Nagas scored the first and last tries against Hartlepool Rugby but the United town side scored three in between to clinch the Group A points 15-14.

Howe scored the opener, with Adam Smith and Lee Maddison touching down for Hartlepool United in the second period.

Coach Mick Ainslie said: "It's good to get the first game done and get the W.

"The lads were a bit tense in the first half but got over the line. It's something to build on."
