Eldon Grove Tennis Club set to welcome back members as they celebrate 100th year with new coaching programmes

The Hartlepool-based club will have been making plans during lockdown and are set to welcome back the community on Monday, March 29, in line with Government guidelines.
Members have been working hard to raise funds in recent months and are grateful to the organisations which have provided financial backing, including: Thirteen Group, The National Lottery, Tees Valley Community Fund, LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) and the North East Disability Tennis Forum.

Hide AdThat has allowed the club to expend, with new programmes to offer regular coaching and playing opportunities now in place.
Junior sessions will include the new LTA Youth programme, which has been designed with lots of fun and exciting activities that will work to improve young players’ athletic development alongside their tennis ability.
Eldon Grove will also run their popular tots sessions for kids aged 4 years upwards, while there are coaching programmes for older children up to yellow ball level.
There are sessions for adults, too, with weekly disabilities sessions set to start on Monday, March 29 (excluding Bank Holidays) from 11am-12pm

Hide AdAdult coaching sessions will start on Monday, April 12, running from 12:30pm – 1pm, while new classes for females will start on Wednesday, April 14, running from 10am-11am.
The club state that no playing experience is necessary for all sessions, which will be run by a fully-qualified coach who is friendly and supportive.
Their popular walking tennis classes will start up again on Tuesday, March 30 from 11am-12pm, which run at a slower pace with two bounces allowed.
Plans to start a new family session, where parents or guardians can come and play with children, are set to launch this spring and will begin on Tuesday, April 12 from 6-7pm.
