The bottom of the table side have perfomed superbly against the division’s top two in their last 160 minutes of league rugby.

Horden led Percy Park 15-3 at the break at Welfare Park before fading to lose 39-15 while last time out they pushed leaders Sheffield, losing 20-13 at Abbeydale Park.

Now, the Collierymen visit out-of-sorts Pocklington, who have slipped from third to 10th (kick-off 2.15pm).

Head coach Glenn Bowman acknowledges the trip to Feather’s Field is still a difficult one but hopes they can come out on top.

“We’re looking to build on the performace down at Sheffield,” he told SportMail.

“It’s going to be hard down there but Pocklington aren’t in a great run of form at the minute.

“That might sound a bit rich coming from the coach of a team who haven’t won all season.

“But if we put in the same effort as last time, believe in ourselves and stay organised we could come away with something.”

Bowman praised two of the side’s back division who could be key figures tomorrow in North Yorkshire.

David Heckles has been one of the leading lights throughout the dark times while last season’s leading points scorer, Craig Jones, has made a good return to the side after a long-term injury.

“Jonesy has been doing well for us in the last few games, with the boot as well as with the ball in hand,” said Bowman.

“We just need to get the ball to him a bit more often.

“Davy Hecks has filled in really well at 10 since Andrew [Turner] was injured.

“He’s great at 15 but is growing into the 10 role – he’s a real threat and he’s not shy so that means he’s a good organiser as well.”

Bowman is without the injured Andrew White, Andrew Docherty, Carl Oliver and Gareth Malcolm though he “expects they’ll all be back within the next couple of weeks.”

The rest of the local league programme is taking a break.
