The Stadium of Light have hinted at who will perform when gigs return in 2022.

Earlier this month it was revealed that stadium bosses were in talks with promoters to stage a concert, the first at the home of the Black Cats since the Spice Girls in 2019.

Now, the Stadium of Light Twitter account has tweeted about gigs returning with an image which features an Elton John logo on the pitch as well as a date of June 19, 2022.
