Police release CCTV image of male following bungled Hartlepool hammer robbery

Police have released a CCTV image of a hooded male they want to trace in connection with a bungled hammer robbery.

The frightening incident took place at the Jet Garage, in Wynyard Road, when a male entered the store with a hammer and threatened the store worker before leaving empty handed.

It happened at about 9pm on Thursday, April 8.

The suspect Cleveland Police wish to trace is described as aged between 15 and 19, of slim build and 5ft 8in tall.

The force say he was wearing a dark puffer Armani jacket with the hood up and a scarf over his face, grey slim fit jogging bottoms, dark gloves with reflectors on the fingers and dark coloured trainers with white soles.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information about the male on the CCTV is asked to contact Hartlepool CID on 101, quoting 055282.
