Whether closed, demolished or re-purposed, these are 10 Hartlepool pubs we’ve lost over the years.
1. The Shades Hotel, Church Street
Opened way back in 1856, The Shades Hotel was closed in 1970 and rebranded as New Shades in 1971. Though now derelict, the council recently stepped in to buy the property. Photo: Hartlepool Mail
2. Market Hotel, Lynn Street
The building once home to the Market Hotel has changed hands several times over the years, including becoming an Indian restaurant at one point. Today however, it remains closed. Photo: Hartlepool Mail

Demolished in 2007, the Golden Flatts once stood at the junction between Seaton Lane and Brenda Road. It was built in 1996 and the site now accommodates housing. Photo: Hartlepool Mail
