Millions of pounds are expected to be spent on the ongoing transformation of Hartlepool’s Church Street.

An urban park and film production village are promised to follow the recent opening of the Northern Film and TV Studios and the £12m improvements at the town’s railway station.

So we thought the investment was a timely opportunity to dust down these archive photos of the street.
