Big laughs heading our way as comedy stars from Jimmy Carr to Dara O’Briain have gigs in the region

FUN-LOVERS are in for a treat in 2015 when some of the nation’s biggest comedy names head to the region.

A string of big hitters including Jimmy Carr, Dara O’Briain, Kevin Bridges, Alan Carr, Andy Parsons and Dave Gorman are all heading north during the next 12 months.

As well as that, the monthly Catch 22, Big Mouth and Hot Potato comedy clubs will all continue to bring a mix of familiar TV faces and some of the best up and coming comics in the country to both sides of the river throughout the year.

Hot Potato Comedy Club, at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre, starts its brand new season with an ace line-up of Charlie Baker & Paul Pirie, with Jason Cook as special guest MC on February 21.

Before that, there’s a Comedy Club at Stockton’s Arc on January 30, before the big-hitters start to arrive in March with Andy Parsons coming to the same venue with his brand new show.

Jimmy Carr plays at Middlesbrough Town Hall on March 28, and has also lined up another visit on August 9.

On April 14/15 Dara O’Briain brings his Crowd Tickler show to Middlesbrough Town Hall, then on April 19 Alan Carr takes to the same stage,

Katherine Ryan visits Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt on May 16, then on June 13 local favourite Patrick Monahan plays a homecoming gig in Middlesbrough.

Arguably the highlight of the year for comedy fans comes on July 16 when Kevin Bridges takes over Middlesbrough Town Hall then on November 21 Dave Gorman visits the same venue.
