Stockton man appears at Teesside Crown Court over the death of Hartlepool pedestrian, 79
A motorist is due to stand trial next year over the death of a Hartlepool pensioner.
Ryan Addison, 27, pleaded not guilty to causing the death of 79-year-old William Turnbull by dangerous driving when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday, April 22.
Pedestrian Mr Turnbull died in a collision with a blue BMW 335D on Belle Vue Way, in Hartlepool, on October 13, in 2024.
A trial for Addison has been set for May next year and is set to feature expert witnesses for both sides.

Police said at the time that Mr Turnbull was walking near the junction of Thomlinson Road at 11pm when the collision happened.
His family paid tribute to him as a loving father, step-dad and granddad.
Addison, of Dovedale Road, Norton, was granted unconditional bail and a further preliminary court hearing will take place in early September.
The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Francis Laird, told Addison to submit a defence statement and to attend his trial.
