GBH arrests after man found with serious injuries in Hartlepool street

An investigation is ongoing after a man was found with serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains.
The man was found in the street by emergency services in Stockton Road, Hartlepool, at around 3.10am on Saturday, December 19.

Hide AdCleveland police have now confirmed two people have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in relation to the incident.


A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: “Police are investigating after an injured male was found on Stockton Road, Hartlepool, with serious head injuries around 3:15am on Saturday 19th December.
"The man was taken to hospital, where he remains with non-life threatening injuries.
“A 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of GBH and she has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Hide Ad“A 35-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of GBH and he remains in police custody at this time.”


Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
A police cordon was put in place on Saturday morning for a number or hours with police cars blocking both sides near the Burn Valley roundabout as officers launched an investigation into the incident.
A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service said previously: "We attended an incident in Stockton Road, Hartlepool, at 3.10am this morning following concerns of a man’s welfare.
