Hartlepool residents urged to be vigilant after reports of suspected break-ins

Residents are urged to ensure their doors and windows are secure and valuables safely stored after reports of a man trying doors overnight.

Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team said in a statement on March 31: “Police are investigating reports of a man suspected to have been trying doors overnight in Rosedale Avenue.

"Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to run overnight patrols in the town alongside response teams, CID and the Special Constabulary.

“Please check doors and windows are secure overnight and items such as car keys are stored securely, out of sight and reach of the doorway.

“Anyone with any information or CCTV, they have not yet shared with police, is asked to call 101.”

Further details about the complaints have still to be revealed.

The warning comes as police patrols in the Foggy Furze area of the town has been stepped up following concerns over a recent spate of attempted burglaries.
