Injured man needs stitches after teenagers assault him in Hartlepool

A man in his sixties has been assaulted in Hartlepool.

The incident happened as the man walked along Hartlepool’s Lynn Street.

A group of up to 11 teenage boys were across the street when two of the boys crossed the road and approached the man from behind.

They kicked him to the floor before making off towards Church Street.

Cleveland Police have said the victim suffered a cut to the head, cuts to his hands, which required stitches, and cuts to his knees.

One of the suspects is described as wearing thick-rimmed glasses and the other was wearing a camouflage jacket.

Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the group to contact them and also any witnesses or anyone in Lynn Street who may have private CCTV footage.

The attack took place on Saturday, May 22, at around 3pm.

Anyone who may know the identity of those responsible is asked to contact PC David Lester, from Hartlepool Police, on 101, quoting incident number 082112.
