More than 200 people dispersed from 'unacceptable' illegal rave by Cleveland Police

An investigation is ongoing after police officers dispersed more than 200 people, who had gathered for an illegal rave in the Eston area, near Middlesbrough, on Saturday, July 4.
The National Police Air Service helicopter was also called to help break up the illegal rave in a wooded area.

Hide AdSuperintendent Emily Harrison said: “This incident is unacceptable and we won’t tolerate illegal raves happening in Cleveland.
“Raves like these pose potential safety concerns for those attending, they are illegal and attending such an event places an unnecessary burden on our NHS colleagues who have been working hard to try to keep us all safe during the ongoing pandemic.
Earlier on Saturday, Cleveland Police took to social media to warn member of the public not to attend and asked parents and guardians to check on the whereabouts of their children.
