Two brothers from Hartlepool appear in court charged with attempted murder, burglary and trespass

Two Hartlepool brothers have appeared in court charged with attempted murder.

Tony Michael Clark, 31, of Wharton Terrace, and Lee Graham Clark, 30, of Wingfield Close, are both charged with the attempted murder of Shaun Brown on Saturday, November 16.

The pair are also both charged with burglary of a dwelling in Fieldfare Road with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and trespass of a dwelling in Torbay Walk with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Lee Clark is also charged with breaching a restraining order and criminal damage at the King Oswy Social Club.

All the alleged crimes are said to have happened on Saturday, November 16.

The two brothers appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 18.

No pleas were given during the short hearing and the pair were remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Crown Court on Monday, December 16.

Police were called to an incident behind the shops in Catcote Road, Hartlepool.

He is still in hospital, where his condition was described by police as ‘critical but stable.’

Walpole Road was sealed off to the rear of shops in Catcote Road during Sunday.

Several police vehicles were present and both uniformed officers and scenes of crime officers in white overalls and wearing face masks have been at work.
