Two men due in court charged with attempted murder in Hartlepool

The alleged incident is believed to have taken place on Catcote Road in the town over the weekend.

The two men, aged 30 and 31, have been charged with attempted murder and are due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court today, Monday.

The Mail reported how a man had been found with serious head injuries at an address on Catcote Road at around 7.15pm on Saturday night.

He is still in hospital, where his condition was described by police as ‘critical but stable.’

Walpole Road was sealed off to the rear of shops in Catcote Road during Sunday.

Several police vehicles were present and both uniformed officers and scenes of crime officers in white overalls and wearing face masks have been at work.

Following the incident detectives appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
