Three Hartlepool German Shepherd-style dogs face destruction after court rules they are dangerous

Three German Shepherd type-dogs face being destroyed after they were deemed to be dangerous following legal action by police.

Their Hartlepool owners now have less than three weeks to appeal against the decisions after Cleveland Police took the cases to Teesside Magistrates’ Court, in Middlesbrough, earlier this month.

Justices granted an order against Laura Sullivan, of Kirriemuir Road, for a dog named Sheba.

A second order was made against Ethan Sullivan, who lives at the same address in Kirriemuir Road, for a dog called Riley.

Neil Robinson, of Elgin Walk, Hartlepool, was subject of a third order in relation to a dog called Sasha.

The cases against the owners were taken to court by Cleveland Police under the Dogs Act 1871 on the grounds that the dogs are “dangerous and not kept under proper control”.

All three owners were ordered by the court to pay the force costs of £2,307.52p.
