One person rescued from broken down boat by Hartlepool RNLI

The incident took place at around 5pm on Sunday, July 19, when teams at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in Hartlepool received an alert from the Humber Coastguard of a vessel in distress.
One person was on board the pleasure craft, which had broken down around one mile off the coast of Redcar.

Hide AdCrews launched the inshore lifeboat from Ferry Road lifeboat station in Hartlepool at 5.15pm and the team were alongside the stricken vessel at around half an hour later.
RNLI teams towed the pleasure craft to safety at Kafiga Landings in the Headland, Hartlepool, before they returned to base to be refuelled.
It is understood that the person on board the broken down vessel was not hurt in the incident.
A spokesperson for RNLI in Hartlepool said: “Hartlepool RNLI volunteers were paged at 5.05pm on July 19 by Humber Coastguard to assist a 25ft pleasure craft with one person on board that had suffered mechanical failure approximately one mile off Redcar.
