Panto favourite Davey Hopper returns to the North East to appear in Hartlepool's festive Cinderella
Families can rekindle a much-loved Christmas tradition this year as popular pantomime performer Davey Hopper returns to the region for his first Christmas pantomime since working for Disney.
Davey will join the cast of Cinderella at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre after performing as Pumbaa from The Lion King at Disneyland Paris.
After four years away, he is returning to his true home – the stage – for a Christmas full of laughs in this year’s Hartlepool extravaganza by AJ Theatrical Productions.
Davey joins a cast described as “fantastically funny, bright and bold”.
He said: “It’s wonderful to be back doing panto in the North East. I appeared in my first professional pantomime when I was 17 and I’ve since done more than 25.
“AJ Productions always put on a fantastic family show. So come to Hartlepool and see me tread the boards once more as part of a magical cast in this spellbinding retelling of Cinderella.”
Jacqueline Turnbull, AJ Theatrical productions producer and director, said: “We’ve worked with Davey on a number of productions over the years. So we’re absolutely thrilled to welcome him back, this time at Christmas for Cinderella.
“He’s joining an exceptionally funny, bright and bold cast, and we know he’ll be a fantastic addition to the company.”
Councillor Rob Darby, chair of Hartlepool Borough Council’s housing, growth and communities committee, said: “Cinderella is set to be our most enchanting pantomime yet and we’re delighted that Davey is joining what is a truly sparkling cast.”
Cinderella runs from Thursday, December 10, to Sunday, December 27.
Prices start from just £14 for children and £16 for adults.
