Cleveland Fire Brigade beings investigations as casualty taken to hospital after Hartlepool bungalow fire

Investigations have begun after a Hartlepool home was engulfed by flames in the early hours of this morning.

Three fire engines and one ambulance were sent to a property in Willow Grove, Hartlepool, this morning at 01.02am (Tuesday, October 24) after a call was made alerting emergency services to a fire.

The property suffered 100% fire damage to the living room and 20% fire damage and 80% smoke damage to the rest of the property.

Cleveland Fire Brigade said: “Three fire engines were in attendance from Billingham and Hartlepool. 100% fire damage was made to the living room and 20% damage to the remainder of the property.”

They added: "Four breathing apparatus and two hose reels were used. Crews got the stop sign at 2.31am. Investigations will begin as per usual procedure.”

North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an incident at a private address this morning shortly after 1am. We dispatched one ambulance crew and took one patient to North Tees Hospital."
