Friends of Hartlepool teenager Benji Catchpole invited to line funeral route in tribute

Friends of popular Hartlepool teenager Benji Catchpole are invited to line the road in tribute on the day of his funeral.

Benji, who went to Manor Community Academy and was 15, tragically died on Sunday, May 24, in woods at Clavering.

His funeral, which is for family only, will take place on Friday, June 5, at 11am.

Benji's family are inviting his friends to line the route from Oban Avenue to Stranton Cemetery from 10.30am to pay their respects, while observing social distancing.

Although people can not physically attend the funeral service, they can watch it live on Joel D Kerr Funeral Service’s Facebook page.

Manor Community Academy described Benji as “a very bright young man, who had great potential to achieve his dreams” and was well liked by both students and staff.
