Hartlepool Art Club is back with its 74th annual exhibition at the town’s gallery

The popular exhibition which showcases the work of talented artists from one of the largest art clubs in the North East will open in Hartlepool on Saturday, November 13.

It’s the club’s 74th annual exhibition and it will take place at Hartlepool Art Gallery, in Church Square.

The event, which attracts people from Hartlepool and beyond, will include a range of original artworks by the club’s current members, featuring a variety of techniques and subject matter.

Original artwork, hand-crafted jewellery and homeware will also be available.

Georgina Ascroft, manager at Hartlepool Art Gallery, has said the gallery team is delighted to host the event.

She said: “We’re delighted to host the 74th annual Hartlepool Art Club exhibition at the gallery this year and showcase some of the fantastic works of art created during the pandemic.

“We hope people come and browse the unique gifts available in our Christmas shop. As it’s a selling show, every sale supports local artists, the art club and our gallery.”

Hartlepool Art Club currently has 70 members ranging from enthusiastic beginners to experienced painters.

The club meets every second Wednesday of the month in the art gallery and new members and visitors are always welcome.

The art gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10am to 5pm, except for bank holidays. Entry is free of charge.

Hartlepool Art Club’s exhibition will run until Saturday, January 15.
