Drinkers can enjoy a pint on the house while supporting a food bank campaign at the same time.

The Three Brass Monkeys, in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, Hartlepool, is helping stamp out hunger this summer by offering customers the chance to get a free pint if they donate to the pub’s food bank collection.

Participating customers are given a stamp card and, after buying seven drinks, can get their eighth free if they donate either money or food to the pub’s collection scheme.

Sherrell Roberts, manager at The Three Brass Monkeys, said: “We do it quite often and it’s a massive success.”

She continued: “We generally raise around £200. I then go to ASDA and get as much food as I can and deliver it.”

The Three Brass Monkeys is part of the Amber Taverns group and is joining scores of its sister pubs who are also taking part in the initiative.
