The Glade of Light memorial is a white marble “halo” bearing the names of those killed in 2017 and is conceived as a living memorial.

It features plants which grow naturally in the UK countryside and which have been selected to provide year-round colour and to echo the changing seasons.

Mother-of-three Jane Tweddle, a former pupil at Hartlepool’s Dyke School School, was one of 22 victims to die following the blast on May 22.

Living in Blackpool at the time, the 51-year-old school receptionist had accompanied a friend to Manchester whose daughter had attended the Ariana Grande concert.

The families of those lost have been given the opportunity to visit privately before the memorial opens on January 5.
