The sixth Colour Run in aid of Hartlepool’s Alice House Hospice was due to take place on Sunday, July 4, after it was cancelled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
More than 200 people took part in the last event in 2019 and were showered in brightly-coloured paint while completing the Seaton Carew course.

The 3km sponsored family fun run will this year be held at a new venue at West Hartlepool Rugby Club, in Catcote Road, from noon.
Organisers stress “it is open to all ages and abilities and families are encouraged to come and join the fun”, adding that “it’s not a race, so running is not essential”.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ Gavin Lancaster, from Higham Discos, before runners are encouraged to throw the contents of their paint packets into the air to shower participants at the start of the run.

Other attractions at the fun day include stalls, tombola plus food and drink.
The event has been sponsored by Exwold, Censis, Ipro Hydrate and Revolution Esports, meaning every penny raised goes straight to patient care at the Wells Avenue hospice.
Janice Forbes, the hospice’s community fundraiser, commented: “It’s lovely to be able to organise events again, we’ve really missed getting out and meeting our supporters.

Registration, which includes a white T-shirt, a packet of paint powder and refreshments, is £15 for adults, £10 for children and £40 for a family of two adults and two children.
The event helps towards the £2.8m the hospice has to raise every year as part of its £3.5m annual running costs.
