Three charged with Hartlepool town centre robbery after incident is caught on camera
Three suspects have been charged with robbery after CCTV operators spotted an incident as it was taking place.
Cleveland Police were alerted after three men were seen on security camera appearing to assault another man in York Road, Hartlepool, on Wednesday, June 10, at 2am.
Officers arrived quickly and men aged 25, 38 and 43 were arrested.
After being questioned overnight by detectives, all three were charged with robbery and were due to appear before Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Detective Chief Inspector James Barnes, of Hartlepool CID, said: “We have CCTV covering many areas in the town and also drones out there watching.
“I hope this swift arrest sends a message to anyone intent on committing crimes such as robbery that you are being watched.”
