A woman has been taken to hospital after she slipped on ice and broke her ankle.

The female walker, who was on the Hart to Haswell Walkway, was taken to hospital after emergency services were called at around 10.55am on Saturday, January 9.

Hartlepool Coastguard team was paged by Humber Coastguard operations centre to assist Northeast Ambulance with the casualty extraction.

A spokesman for the coastguard team said: “The team transported the lady the the waiting ambulance for transportation to hospital.”
