Investigations works carried out on Hartlepool seafront land as council looks into regeneration scheme
Work is ongoing as part of research which could see a Seaton Carew seafront plot regenerated.
Hartlepool Borough Council has said it is in talks with a firm which could help it look to develop the plan off Coronation Drive.
It confirmed inquiries were being carried out on the site yesterday, Wednesday, March 31, and said they would continue into today as part of those investigations.
It includes a section of land which sandwiches the housing estate off Lawson Drive from Coronation Drive, and Gala Drive, which is accessed from Warrior Drive
A spokesperson for the authority said: “The council is in discussions with a company specialising in urban regeneration and the site investigation works currently being carried out on land close to Coronation Drive, including the grassed spoil mounds behind Lithgo Close and Gala Close at Seaton Carew, will inform any remediation strategy that might be required in the future.”
