Fallen tree blocks Hartlepool road

Traffic had to be diverted after a large fallen tree blocked a Hartlepool road.

The tree had fallen across Coniscliffe Road in Hartlepool, blocking the carriageway at around 8am on Tuesday, December 29.

Traffic had to divert using Parklands Way and Egerton Road while the tree was removed by Hartlepool Borough Council later that morning.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We were contacted just before 8am today, Tuesday, with a report that a large fallen tree was blocking Coniscliffe Road in Hartlepool, blocking the carriageway so traffic had to divert using Parklands Way and Egerton Road.

“Hartlepool Borough Council was informed so they could take steps to remove the tree.”

And the wintry weather is expected to continue with temperatures remaining low at around 3°C on Tuesday.
