Woman arrested on suspicion of drink driving after Hartlepool crash is released by police

A woman arrested by police after a crash in which another motorist was injured has been released pending further investigations.

The female driver of a silver Ford C-Max car was taken to hospital with back, arm and other injuries following the collision at the Hart Village end of Hart Lane earlier this week.

She is believed to have been released from the vehicle by Cleveland Fire Brigade.

Her current condition is unknown.

They confirmed on Friday that she has been released from custody under investigation while inquiries continue.

The force are still wanting any witnesses to the collision, which they say took place at around 9.45am, to contact them with information.

A spokeswoman added: “Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with dash cam footage is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 046218.”
