Jude Arthurs’ first half header was enough to secure victory for the play-off chasing Ravens and put a huge dint in Pools title hopes.

Dave Challinor’s side now sit fourth in the National League table and six points behind leaders Torquay United following a busy bank holiday schedule.

Last time out - Pools 3-1 Chesterfield

Hartlepool United’s social media may have been silent but there was plenty to shout about following a 3-1 win over Chesterfield at Victoria Park on Saturday evening.

First half goals from Rhys Oates and Luke Armstrong either side of a Josef Yarney own goal were enough to secure a 12th victory in 13 games at The Vic.

It extended Pools’ unbeaten run to 16 in front of the BT Sport cameras despite former Poolie Fraser Kerr pulling back a second half consolation for the visitors.

One hour until team news - view our predicted line-up

We’re anticipating a few changes to the Pools side today due to the quick turnaround in matches.

We’ve arrived at Bromley - just over two hours until kick-off!

The weather is mild but windy here in Kent with a chance of rain later in the afternoon.

The Pools players are yet to arrive and the ground but should be here shortly.

Predictions for today? Dominic Scurr has his say...

In Pools’ past two matches I’ve predicted close matches before kick-off and they’ve proven to be anything but!

Hoping to be proved wrong for a third consecutive match, I do think it will be a close fought affair this time out.

Bromley are a strong side, on their own 3G pitch and have the top scorer in the division on Michael Cheek, they will be no pushovers today and Pools will have to be right at it in order to get a result.

The quick turnaround in matches for Hartlepool partnered with the fact that Bromley are fresh having not played at the weekend has me feeling Dave Challinor’s side have a real challenge on their hands this afternoon.

But it’s one they should be capable of dealing with to an extent so I’m going to go with a 1-1 draw.

Please prove me wrong!

Pools boss Dave Challinor previews today’s clash

“Bromley is a difficult place to go but we couldn’t be going there in better spirits,” he said.

“There will be a few changes which will be based on conversations between staff and players to see where everyone is at.

“It’s probably the first and only game this season where we’ll be preempting changes not through performances but due to the quick turnaround and how we want to go about the game on Monday.

“It’s such a quick turnaround that some of the players who didn’t play on Saturday will start on Monday. We do have bodies that we need to take care of but I don’t think it will weaken us in any way.

“The lads who haven’t been involved are training and we’ll travel as a group on Sunday.

“We’ll get down to London and do another session. We’ll see how everyone is and pick a team who we think can go and win on Monday.”

Gooooood morning! Welcome back to our Pools matchday live blog

Dominic Scurr here, back reporting on Hartlepool’s latest match in their battle for promotion back to the Football League.

Hayes Lane is the setting for this bank holiday Monday clash as Pools take on Bromley.

The match comes less than 48-hours after Saturday’s 3-1 win over Chesterfield at Victoria Park. The incredibly quick turnaround is sure to see a few changes to the side.

It’s been a while since Pool last travelled to Bromley due to last season’s fixture being cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Back in 2018, Pools were beaten 4-0 in Kent as Peter Kioso was sent off.

Let’s hope for a significantly better afternoon this time out!
