Defenders Gary Liddle (groin) and Timi Odusina (hamstring) will miss the trip to the Peninsula Stadium this weekend.

And manager Dave Challinor remains hopeful of bringing a defender in to help shore things up at the back for Pools with Blackburn Rovers centre-back Tyler Magloire a target.

In the meantime, Odusina is hoping to be back in contention for next weekend's trip to Eastleigh while Liddle has no set return date.

"We’re looking to get Timi back next week,” Challinor said.

“We’ll see how he is after the weekend once we’re all back in training but we won’t force him back until he’s ready.

"Lidds has had a scan which doesn’t look great but I’m not too sure how the timescales will work out at the moment. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get a further update on him shortly.”
