Hartlepool United 2020-21 squad numbers revealed – former Sunderland winger handed number 10 shirt, Newcastle United loanee number 2 and key number left vacant

With just a day to go before Pools kick-off their competitive campaign against Aldershot Town at Victoria Park (3pm kick-off), 22 players have now been handed their squad numbers.

Ben Killip, Ryan Donaldson, Nicky Featherstone, Gavan Holohan, Aaron Cunningham and Brad Young have kept their squad numbers from the 2019-20 campaign.

Luke Molyneux has switched from the number 21 to the number 10 shirt for the upcoming campaign.

Joe Grey has signalled his intent to be involved in the Pools first-team in his first season as a pro with the number 12 shirt.

Adam Campbell, another product of Hartlepool’s youth set-up, has been handed squad number 30.

Dav Challinor has made 13 signings ahead of the new season with the side’s newest addition, Lewis Cass, wearing the number 2 shirt.

David Ferguson, Gary Liddle, Timi Odusina and Mark Shelton have been handed numbers 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively.

Striker Mason Bloomfield will wear the number 9 shirt while Rhys Oates returns as Pools’ number 11.

The number 18, last worn by Luke Williams has been left vacant as discussions continue over the out-of-contract midfielder’s future at the club.
