Here's how our Pools writer rated the players following a miserable evening in Northamptonshire - do you agree?

5. David Ferguson: 4
Will be disappointed that Scott Pollock's opening goal came from an area where he might have been, although he will be frustrated that none of his teammates managed to deal with Brackley's long throw. Not offering a lot at the moment but isn't helped by a lack of cover and competition in his position. Photo: Frank Reid

6. Nathan Sheron: 5
Pools were, at times, overrun in midfield and he struggled to get a grip of the game. Neither he nor Nicky Featherstone picked up Brackley's late runners often enough and his contribution was uncharacteristically negligible. Photo: Frank Reid

7. Nicky Featherstone: 7
Struggled a bit out of possession and was part of one disappointing moment late on when he and Adam Campbell were beaten down by the corner flag but neither made much of an attempt to chase back and recover. That said, some of his passing was excellent and a lot of what Pools did well went through him. A couple of superb through balls that unlocked the Saints defence. Would have been nice to see Pools get him involved even more often. Photo: Frank Reid

8. Joe Grey: 6
Won the penalty with a trademark driving run and caused Brackley a few problems, albeit his contribution was overshadowed by the marauding Dan Dodds. Can never question his character and attitude and can't help feeling one or two of his teammates would be well served taking a leaf out of his book. Photo: Frank Reid
