Goals from Rhys Oates, a Josef Yarney own goal and another from Luke Armstrong in the first half were enough to seal the three points for Pools despite former defender Fraser Kerr pulling a goal back for Chesterfield in the second half.
The win keeps Pools third in the table going into the bank holiday Monday match at Bromley (3pm kick-off).
Here are the Pools player ratings from the match…
1. Henrich Ravas - 6
Parried a Danny Rowe free-kick and claimed a delivery from Joel Taylor. Couldn’t do much about the goal and otherwise didn’t have an awful lot to do. Photo: Mark Fletcher
2. David Ferguson - 8
Put in several dangerous balls from the left and was a threat with some surging runs forward. Photo: Mark Fletcher
3. Timi Odusina - 9
Sharp and on the front foot even when switched to the opposite side of the back three. A confident performance. Photo: Mark Fletcher
4. Gary Liddle - 9
A fantastic long ball to Jamie Sterry led to Pools’ second goal. Was caught out once at the back but kept a calm head to defend well when Chesterfield started to apply some pressure. Photo: Christopher Booth
