Our Boro writer Joe Nicholson has picked out some of the better moments, the not so good ones, the players who performed and those who didn’t in our season review. Scroll down and flick through the pages to see if you agree:
9. Game of the season: Luton 3 Middlesbrough 3
It may not have been a great all-round performance, yet in terms of drama, entertainment and atmosphere, this had it all. The Friday night blockbuster was a great advert for the Championship on the opening weekend. Unfortunately for Boro, the goals soon dried up. Photo: Harriet Lander
10. Jonathan Woodgate assessment
Woodgate got hammered from some fans during a terrible season, and ultimately underachieved in terms of results. Yet many will agree the rookie coach was let down by his recruitment team and lacked an experienced head around him. His passion and hunger to improve was always clear, yet it wasn't enough. 11. Neil Warnock assessment
Warnock said this was the most difficult job of his career, and the way he quickly got to grips with an unknown squad was hugely impressive. Winning four games out of eight with an 'unbalanced' squad which was low on confidence showed what a good motivator and man manager he is. Boro fans will hope for more of the same next season. 12. Recruitment assessment
Three outfield players with just one Championship appearance between them represented a hugely disappointing summer transfer window which left Boro on the backfoot. It wasn't much better in January, although the loan arrivals of Patrick Roberts and Harold Moukoudi did help. Photo: Mike Hewitt
