But the Boro boss is set to welcome back Patrick Roberts and Dael Fry for the clash with promotion-chasing Swansea City this weekend.

"Hayden Coulson is 50-50,” said Woodgate.

“He has a slight problem but I'm hoping he should be OK. He has been very, very good for us. Don't forget he was on loan at Cambridge only last season.”

On striker Gestede, who has started the last two, Woodgate added: "Rudy is touch and go as well. I think Rudy will be fine."

The manager also confirmed he could have winger Roberts and defender Fry back this weekend with the pair coming through a return to first-team training unscathed.

"Patrick and Dael Fry are back, I'm really pleased with that,” said Woodgate.

"But George (Friend) (Dani) Ayala and Anfernee Dijksteel aren't in contention."
