Middlesbrough FC news: Leeds United receive Riverside allocation plus former midfielder racially abused
Leeds United have received around 4,400 tickets for their trip to Middlesbrough later this month.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side will face Boro at the Riverside on Wednesday, February 26 (7:45pm kick-off), with away tickets set to go on sale on Wednesday.
Tickets will be expected to sell out quickly and are priced at £30 for adults, £20 for senior citizens and £17 for under 18s.
The Whites ran out comfortable 4-0 winners when the sides met at Elland Road back in November, yet Boro have improved since then.
Trabzonspor condemn racial abuse
Turkish club Trabzonspor have released a statement condemning racial abuse after former Boro midfielder John Obi Mikel was targeted on social media.
Mikel left Boro to join Trabzonspor at the end of last season and has played regularly in the Turkish Super Lig this term.
Reports in Turkey claimed the Nigeria international, 32, received racial abuse on his Instagram page following Saturday’s 2-1 win over Fenerbahce.
A club statement from Trabzonspor said: "Racism is a refuge for helpless and ignorant people. Our football player, Obi Mikel, condemns the racist attacks after the Fenerbahce match.
"We present to the public that we have filed a criminal complaint against the attackers."
