It was an eighth successive home win for Hartlepool against a Barnet side who have now won just one of their last 19 matches.

“Hartlepool had won seven in a row at home so they're a good side. We started well and had a great chance before they scored. We switched off for the goal and let Shelton get the ball in.”

On Pools’ goalscorer, the Barnet boss added: "Armstrong is miles better than this level, miles better and that goal was the difference between us.”
