More than just luck – Salford City loanee Luke Armstrong discusses his impressive goal tally at Hartlepool United following win over Barnet
and live on Freeview channel 276
It was the Salford City loanee’s ninth goal in 13 National League games for Pools with all nine coming in and around the six-yard box.
Armstrong's goals may appear easy to the untrained eye, but the 24-year-old feels there is a lot more to his goals than simply being in the right place at the right time.

“There have been other chances that I should have scored and you can’t get all those chances by pure luck, you need determination to get into the box and whenever it goes wide, I’m sprinting to get into the box and really believing I’m going to score.
"That’s a massive thing you’ve got to have because if you gamble then things will eventually fall for you. That’s all I’m thinking at the moment and I’ve got an extra yard in my step because I know it’s going to be a good delivery from out wide.
"The gaffer said after the Wrexham game, he can’t knock me too much because I can only shoot from inside the six-yard box, not any further!

"The gaffer put a stat-up where 80-per-cent of goals are scored there so I’ve just got to get in there and get on the end of things.”
Armstrong had a couple of chances to extend his impressive tally during Saturday's win that he was frustrated not to take.
"I’m happy to win first and foremost, that’s the main thing,” he told The Mail.

“We’re delighted to get the win and we just need to keep working hard.”
