Here's what our Hartlepool United writer Robbie Stelling made of the Pools players as they gained more ground in the race for the National League play-offs by beating bottom side Truro.

5. Cameron John: 7
Gave the ball away a couple of times in the first half and wasn't as spectacular as his impressive showing against Eastleigh, but got forward well and was a threat throughout. Cole Deeming caused him a few problems while the equalising goal came from a ball down his side, but he was generally solid defensively. Had a goal ruled out for offside at the beginning of the second half and will be disappointed not to have timed his run having produced a deft finish. Photo: Frank Reid

6. Jack Hunter: 6
Saw plenty of the ball and used it well enough, keeping Pools ticking over for the most part. Allowed Truro men to drive past him too easily on a couple of occasions and his lack of pace was exposed at times. Nonetheless, a decent enough showing. Photo: Frank Reid

7. Nathan Sheron: 6
Steamed into a couple of challenges early on and kept possession nicely, with his looping ball over the top freeing Matty Daly, who should have scored, towards the end of the first half. His influence faded after the break and he was replaced in the 62nd minute. Photo: Frank Reid

8. Jamie Miley: 8
Ended a run of 26 games without scoring with a thunderous strike to restore his side's lead in the second half. Flitted in and out of the game at times but tried his best to inject some energy and impetus into the home side's performance and much of what Pools did well went through him.
