Robbie Stelling's Hartlepool United player ratings as Pools fall to damaging defeat against Halifax Town

Hartlepool United's fading National League play-off hopes have been left hanging by a thread after they were beaten 1-0 by Halifax Town, one of their direct rivals for a coveted spot in the top seven, on Saturday.

Here's what our Hartlepool United writer Robbie Stelling made of the Pools players following Saturday's damaging defeat at home to Halifax Town.

13. Alex Reid: 5

Didn't make much of an impact after being introduced after 65 minutes but, like Charlie Caton, wasn't helped by a lack of service. Photo: Frank Reid

14. Jamie Miley: 6

Won a couple of important challenges but wasn't able to make a huge difference in an attacking sense as the game became increasingly stretched. Photo: Frank Reid

15. Sam Folarin: 5

Never really found himself with the space to make the most of his pace and power but would still like to see Pools utilise him more given their lack of threat from elsewhere. Photo: Frank Reid
